No fireworks in Chapel Hill this year due to budget, and with the drought, fire officials are discouraging home fireworks. The kids in ESY made their own craft and watched a firework video. We had a great time. It was a simple craft, but the small group lesson was expanded a bit to cover some literacy, background knowledge, and following directions.
As always, we threw in a little technology--iPad,
Boardmaker, YouTube, and
Tarheel Reader.
