Hi Everyone! October ends--November begins--the year goes on. Here is a post from last year of all of my favorite Thanksgiving things. I'll most likely add a couple more, so check back.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and if I can teach children to say thank you for their many blessings, I feel I've done my job well. Here is a small collection of what I've shared over the past two years. I'll be adding on, so check back.

Hi Ruth, I just wanted to express my gratitude for your wonderful activities that you post online for free. I am doing my CF in an urban elementary school and I use your materials at least once a week. Thank you! Keep up the good work :)

I do this because of wonderful therapists like you who struggle with large caseloads and a lack of funds for materials. It's also just fun to share. Thanks for the nice comment.
DeleteLove the counting book idea. We also enjoy many of Cathryn Falwell's books and read Feast for 10 for Thanksgiving. Thinking will do the counting book as an extension for the book. Ties in well with counting review doing and need to practice tracing, gluing and cutting.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the sharing you do.
I am in the exact same situation as Laura! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! I am so excited to have ran across the stop motion pumpkin pie video!! In my life skills class we have been talking about pumpkins and the fact that we DO actually EAT them! They don't believe me..... so, we are going to make a pie! They will LOVE this video :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice comment! Enjoy the pie!
DeleteI'm with Laura- this blog got me through my CF year! Although I'm now in my third year and feel more confident in my skills as an SLP, I still find myself back here every week to see what's new. I have used countless adapted books/visual supports and have recommended this site to so many colleagues who work with similar populations. Every single person has the same reaction I did, "This is amazing, thank you!" (except for the fact that I was talking to my computer screen when you popped up on a Google search). Thanks for being a CF supervisor from afar even though you had no idea, and thank you on behalf of all the children who have benefited from all of your work.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your nice words! I love that SLPs and teachers use my books and ideas with kids from all over. If you have any ideas for book titles, send it my way. I'm always looking for new ideas of things to post!
