Many of my students can barely speak, but they know basketball. I found a great book on Tarheel Reader. It's not adapted, but if your students are wanting to learn words like 'layup' and 'dribble', you may want to take them to the playground and demonstrate. No Boardmaker icon can really show it. This is actually a nice reading book for older students reading on about a first grade level.

If you are a Duke fan, sorry!!!!!
I have taken the plunge and created some other items for basketball fans that are posted on TPT for a modest price. This includes 'Basketballs Everywhere' and 'Basketball Preposition Bingo'. Download individually, or get a discounted price for two.
You can get Basketball Prepositions Bingo HERE
You can get Basketballs Everywhere HERE
You can get these bundled for a discount HERE
Important note: I know some of you don't have funds, and all of your students are poor. If you feel you need the bingo game and Basketballs Everywhere, but can't afford them, send me an email. I'll send a link for downloading, no questions asked. If these help children become better communicators, then I'm happy.
